Can Using Expired Water-based Lube In The Anus Cause An Infection?

Hello. I just accidentally used a little bit of expired (3 years) water based lube in my anus. Thankfully it was only a little bit, and I immediately tried removing it as much as I could. I was wondering if it could cause any kind of infection down there, and how I could treat it if so. Mind you, nothing else went up there before I realized it was expired, just the lube.

Hello,

I think just using a bit of expired lube won't cause any harm. I think it won't cause any infection or at least there is nothing can take for prevention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Xhufka Olgeta, General & Family Physician
