Can Vaginal Discharge Taste Differently Due To Pregnancy?

I noticed my vaginal discharge changed to a very bitter taste about a week and a half ago, about a week before that my NUVA ring fell out without me noticing for a bit of time... could the change in taste be due to pregnancy? my period is due withing the next 3 to 7 days... i took a test 3 days ago and it came back negative.
