Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with a varicocele roughly 3 years ago when I noticed a pain and a foreign lump in my scrotum next to my left testicle. Was told that it may have manifested due to my lack of masturbation for nearly 10 weeks. Later it seemed to go away on its own. Started taking a SARM (Ostarine) at 15 mg daily for 6 days now and the varicocele has once again manifested. Pain and mass both present. Could this be due to the SARM intake? Or simply back naturally?
The Ostarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator used for body building purpose via modifications of muscle mass and hormone levels. Though varicocele is not a documented side effect of the medicine, increase in sex drive, pelvic congestion through raised blood flow can cause re appearance of the varicocele for underlying reasons. You should discuss the topic with your treating physician for further dose intake and modifications if an required to combat the current issue.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
