Can Vitamin B12 Deficiency Cause Itching On The Scalp?

Hello, I ve changed my diet and started a semi-vegetarian life style. I eat vegetarian Mon-Thurs and meat Fri-Sun along w/ veggies still. I ve been on this journey for about 2 months now? I ve notice that my scalp has become itchy and very flaky... very itchy more so during night time. I did a little bit of research online and have come up with the conclusion that I may have a vitamin b12 deficiency. I was wondering if OTC vitamin b12 would be effective and help with my issue?

Hello,

It is not related to the vitaminB12 deficiency.

Most probably it is due to fungal infection like dandruff.

You can use clotrimazole shampoo while bathing.

You can also take antihistamines like cetirizine for itching. If symptoms persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
