Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had an attack (my first) of pseudogout that has lasted over three weeks. After a recent back surgery (six weeks ago), my physician prescribed 4000 units of vitamin D, to aid bone growth. Could that be associated with the pseudogout attack? Sheila

Can Vitamin D Supplements Cause Pseudogout?
Hi, No, this will not cause pseudogout. Be assured. Pseudogout has nothing to do with calcium, vitamin D. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
