Can We Have Intercourse Inspite Of Having Ovarian Cysts?

Hi Doctor, my wife is diagonsed with ovarian cysts, doctor has given medicine for 5 days, after wards they will decide weather to remove it through operation if medicine is not effect, current size of cyst is 4.5, my question is can we do sex during this timeperiod.?

Hello,

Usually intercourse is not contraindicated during the ovarian cyst. But

- If the cyst size is large
-If she is having pain due to the cyst
- If there is any possibility of rupture or torsion of the cyst
-Complex ovarian cyst with possible multiple adhesions, etc. In these cases, abstinence is advised.

According to your history as your wife is not having any of the symptoms, there may not be any restriction for you.

But if she develops any pain after the intercourse better to consult your doctor immediately.
