Can We Misuse Cyclobenzaprine Which Is Used For Back Pain?

My son, who s 20 years old, has been given cyclobenziprine by the hospital for back pain, and was told to go to his regular doctor w/i 72 hours. He went in today, but they were booked and suggested he make an appointment for Monday. He did not, saying he/we would look elsewhere. (I was driving.) In our discussion, he asked if I had noticed powder on the bottom of a glass, saying he had taken out some ingredient of his medication. I m wondering if he s abusing this product.

It's a controversial area whether it is a little dangerous or a whole lot dangerous. In general, it is not considered addicting and there is no withdrawal from it as such. It makes many people sleepy and some might enjoy that. There are reports that even mild overdoses can cause heart arrhythmia that can be fatal. It is likely near it's maximal safe dose, so taking more than the recommended amount won't help and will likely hurt.
