Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Weight Gain And Stress Cause Delay In Conception?
I m 35 year age due to stressful life I didn t conceive yet I gain weight I want to reduce weight and want to get in shape to conceive I want to know how can I overcome this stress and what should I eat take medicine to get fertile soon plz help which medicine to reduce weight cuz I was 60 my but now I m 85 all cuz of too much sufferings n stress after marriage
I would advise you to have some blood tests to make sure you do not have thyroid problems or PCOS which may cause weight gain and problems with conception. The following tests are recommended: - TSH and FT4 to check the thyroid function - FSH, LH, testosterone, progesterone, estradiol, etc (to check other hormones)
If all these tests are normal, then you will need treatment for anxiety with SSRI such as escitalopram (your doctor needs to prescribe it and follow you up regularly).
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
