Can Weight Gain Be Caused By The Glandular Problem?

okay my 21 year old has been eating healthy and even when on a low carb diet with my husband and I we lost weight she did not. She gained the weight her freshmen year in college and not due to eating or drinking? Could this be a glandular problem? She had to go to an endocrinologist when she was young due to such delayed puberty. Thoughts

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it can be a glandular issue. Usually thyroid if functioning low can cause weight gain, but sometimes, pituitary functions should also be needed. The kind of issues she had been facing before this, can be related to the weight gain so it's better to get her reviewed by an endocrinologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
