Emergency root canals and tooth extractions are not contraindicated procedures during pregnancy but best avoided until after delivery. You need to get checked at a Dentist's to rule out oral infections instead which can be treated and minimize harm to your baby.

I can understand your problem & want to tell you that second trimester i.e. 3-6 months is the safest period for any dental treatment that is urgent but this is elective procedure,so its better to postpone till delivery.
Still if you have constant pain & its effecting your baby it can be extracted but after considering your trimester & taking few precautions like :-
-while having X-ray cover upper part of body with lead apron.
-consult your gynecologist regarding anesthesia to be used
-don't use i.v. or inhalation anesthesia

Drugs that can be taken are acetaminophen as analgesic & go for amoxicillin along with multivitamin, if you are not allergic to it.
Consult your gynecologist before proceeding.

its better to avoid wisdom tooth extraction during pregnancy,as it will be usually a complicated procedure.
visit your dentist and ask for any safer analgesics.
if the normal eruption of wisdom tooth is possible,you can go for removing the flap covering it by giving incision,which is known as operculectomy.
i would also advice you to go for warm saline gargle and irrigation of the area with betadine-hydrogen peroxide and saline solutions.
please take care to keep the area clean without any food lodgement.since it can worsen the condition.
its better to decide the extraction after delivery.

Yes your teeth can be extracted during pregnancy you want to do it if elective after. But if necessary then it is best during second trimester.

Emergency care can be provided during pregnancy but mostly risky during first trimester and end of third.

You haven't mentioned here whether your wisdom teeth are creating any problem to you in the form of pain or any other discomfort like swelling.

If you are not getting any of the above symptoms, then i would advise you to delay the extraction of the wisdom teeth until your pregnancy period is over or your delivery occurs.

Yes, in some emergency cases like highly infected & severely painful wisdom teeth where it becomes necessary to extract them to avoid any major sufferings , usually they are posted for removal in 2nd trimester.

Even in 2nd trimester teeth can be removed in fifth month as it is the safest period to have procedure executed.

But still, asymptomatic teeth should be delayed for extraction & their removal can be done once pregnancy is over.
This is because, once you are posted for extraction, you need Antibiotics and painkiller drug's coverage both before and after extraction. These drugs have to be used with extreme caution though in safe period.

Even condition may get worsen on failure to maintain cleanliness of the wound allowing it to infect secondarily which then again requires administration of the drugs.

Radiographs which are necessary for third molar extraction, need to be avoided all along the pregnancy period.

Baby has nothing to do with the impacted third molars in mother's jaw unless infected severely.

So, visit your dentist & get clinically examined. Ask him whether he can delay extraction for after the pregnancy period is over.

Wisdom tooth extraction is a complicated surgical procedure and is often associated with pain , swelling, fever, difficulty in mouth opening, dry socket so is best to avoid it during the pregnancy but it is not a contraindicated procedure.
I suggest you to visit dentist get it checked, and if necessary get it extracted during the second trimester ( 3 to 6 months ) of pregnancy as it is the safest period.
Maintain oral hygiene , use antiseptic mouth wash , you can take tab amoxyclav 625 mg twice , tab acetaminophen thrice, vitamin supplement, avoid x ray exposure to the womb by covering it with lead appron during xray.

Any elective dental procedures can be safely done during the second trimester. So if extraction of teeth is required it can be done after pregnancy.

you have not specified the time of your pregnancy. any necessary procedures can be done during second trimester but all elective procedures better be delayed to after pregnancy. but make sure you do not carry any infection in your mouth . get the infection under control by Antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor.

i agree with dr. neah , second trimester i:e between 3-6 months is the safest period for extraction , though it would be better if you could postpone it to after your delivery as it won't affect your baby anyhow.
however if you are going for it then take precautions like to cover yourself with lead apron during xray examination.

best avoid during pregnancy u consult ur gynaec and take 5 days antibiotic regimen it will subside infection and u better remove it after delivery

Dental procedure are safe during second trimester only. we recommend any extraction during this period of pregnancy only but i suggest that take supportive treatment from the dentist and postpone the removal of wisdom after delivery.

Hi, wisdom tooth removal can be done during the second trimester but it will require the use of pain killers and antibiotics which will not be safe for the baby. So if not very urgent, please wait for a few months and get it done after delivery. Take care!

Hi, dental treatment is safe only in second trimester,if their is any dental emergency your tooth can be extracted only in second trimester otherwise take antibiotic after consulting your gyaeno and postpone ur extraction till ur delivery,u can go to any dental college near to u their your extraction can be done in very affordable rate.best of luck for your first baby!
