Hi. I am supposed to make paraformaldehyde solutions and work with them. Are there any long term effects on fertility? I am planning to have a baby in the the next few months. Is it advisable to speak with my supervisor about it? I am worried..please advise.

Hello and thank you for your question!
Formaldehyde is a substance that that has the potential to negatively affect the human reproductive system and is a suspected reproductive toxicant. The severity and nature of the adverse effect is variable and can be influenced by factors such as sex, level of exposure and individual sensitivity to the chemical. So if you are planing to have a baby soon, i would recommend you to talk with your OBGYN doctor first and also with your supervisor.
Best regards !
