Can Wrist Pain Near The PICC Line Be Treated With Vicodin?

My 85 yo mother has a picc line in for ABX therapy. Has had it 1 1/2 weeks. She is having pain just above dressing down to her wrist. It is not warm to touch. Hamptom Roads is having blizzard conditions right now and home health suggested she go to emergency room. Should we just try a Vicodin and wait? I am an RN
