Can you tell if a lump is benign just by looking at it via ultrasound?

No histry of breast cancer, 1st mamogram caused me to go back in for further testing. I was told to wait 6 months because it could be an assist. Not comfortable with the results

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Mammography shows certain characteristics which are used to differentiate between benign and malignant lesion.
Breast lesions are categorized on mammography according to Birad's score.
If the score is low a benign lesion is suggested and if the score is high, malignant lesion is suspected.
Thus, it is possible to differentiate between benign and malignant lesion.
You can wait for 6 months before undergoing further investigation.
