Cause And Cure For Dry Red Skin On Cheek

For a while now, I ve been having extremely dry skin on my cheeks that looks red and a little scaly. It s been itching like crazy, and itching it caused it to be more red and look even worse. I think it is because of a soap that I used that has caused a breakout before. The problem is, the last time I had a breakout this bad, it had gone away within a week but it s been more than 2 weeks now... I don t know what to do, my face feels dry so I want to put on a moisturizer, but I m afraid that it will only make it worse. Is this an allergic reaction or is my skin sensitive? And what should I do about it?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi
According to your complaints it seems to be allergic reaction.
I would recommend you to apply cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturising cream on the entire face.
Besides this take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime for 7-8 days.
This should help in resolving your problem.
Regards
