Change Of Medicine Needed As BP Is High Even After Having Cilnidipine?

My wife is a patient of CKD sinse 2008. Her B.P was always normal and was on amlodipine 2.5 mg since 2011. Recently her B.P has increased above 130/90. Doctor has changed her medicine to cilnidipine 20 mg but still her B.P is high and is above 130/88. Should we go for change in medicine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi. Different patients respond differently to treatment. I would strongly suggest you get a proper review by your doctor. Change in diet, low fat and low in salt, exercise and a change in the drugs or increase in the doses of anti hypertensive drugs would be initial steps. Kind regards
