Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic
Skinlite cream is a triple drug combination of mometasone+tretinoin+
hydroquinone. It is a gold standard/benchmark therapy for melasma. However it should not be used for more than 2-3 months and that too without the supervision of a
dermatologist.
Side effects with it are: Skin sensitivity/
photosensitivity, Acne, Hirsutism etc.
After the initial part of therapy with a triple combination cream, it should be replaced with other pigment reducing agents like
kojic acid, hydroquinone, Azaleic acid,
glycolic acid, arbutin etc to maintain the improvement brought about by the triple combination.
I would prefer to restart her on demelanising treatments with either koiic acid, Azaleic acid or hydroquinone cream rather than with the triple combination.
Glycolic acid peel session from a dermatologist would also help in fading away the blemishes
Sun protection is an essential part of therapy for melasma. A broad spectrum sunscreen, which offers both UVB and UVA protection is a must.
