Chest PA Radiograph Noted Left Sided Pleural Effusion, Bilateral Hilar Prominence With Hilar Opacities. Worry?

Chest PA-View radiograph of my wife says 1- Cardiomegaly present,Left ventricular type. 2- Left sided pleural effusion noted. 3- Unfolding of aorta . 4- Bilateral hilar prominence with hilar opacities. Visualized bone and soft tissue normal. The calicut based hospital is proceeding with angigram,but a cardiologist from USA is of the suggestion that with the present tests taken (ECG,Chest X ray,Blood Test,Eco Cardiograph) digonasing is possible.

from the findings of chest x-ray it is clear that your wife is suffering from heart failure probably due to ischemic heart disease.
now the question is about the next inv. which should be done.
ECG,ECHO is a routine inv. for this patient with abnormal x-ray findings. these will identify the severity of problem.
angiogram is usually done to look the patency of coronary blood vessels. it guides the doctor to take decision about the next specific therapy for the patient.
