Chest Pain, Aggravated After Meals. Normal BP And ECG. Causative Factors And Diagnostic Tests?

Hi Doctor

I have been experiencing shooting pain on left side of the chest; it is mostly around heart area. I have noticed that the pain aggravates after meals, some times it increases while bending forward or sleeping side wards resting on the left shoulder. My BP is normal and just got an ECG done which is normal. Can you please comment on what could be causative factors or what other diagnostic tests I should undergo?

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that your symptoms can be due to increase in acidity and gas in stomach.

You should follow some precautions like :-
1. Avoid spicy and oily foods.
2. Do not miss a meal.
3. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
4. Avoid emotional/mental stress.
5. Drink lots of water daily.

You can take antacid like Omeprazole 40 mg once a day along with Domperidone 30mg for relief.

If the problem persists, get yourself clinically examined and investigated.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
