Chest Pain, Back Pain, Have Cold, Lost Voice. Stopped Smoking. Drank Tea. What Will Work?

I have recently stopped smoking (4 days ago) after 9 months. The first day after quitting, I started to suffer from rather bad pains in my chest and back, which went the following day but then came down with a cold and then began to lose my voice. Tonight, I was rehearsing for a show I am taking part in (which starts next week) and during, I had to shout at the top of my voice and it's made my voice go worse. I have gurgled salt and water, eaten a packet of Soothers, drank tea and rested my voice but it's still not working. It's making me feel quite depressed as I am a vocalist. What do I have to do?

Hello

If a chronic smoker stops smoking abruptly he or she may experience withdrawal symptoms like intense craving for smoking, tension, irritability, poor concentration, trouble sleeping, decrease heart rate etc for few days to weeks but the symptoms you have mentioned are not usually reported by smoker experiencing withdrawal symptoms. In my view, you should consult a E.N.T specialist for these symptoms as these symptoms could be because of E.N.T related problems also.

Kind regards

Vikas
