Chest Pain In Rib Cage Area, Panic Attacks. Family History Of Heart Attack. Causes?
my husband is 48 and has been experiencing chest discomfort in the left rib cage area for quite some time - it is mostly at night during sleep. He is on a high blood pressure pill and he said it feels like its mostly at night....he has been tested for many things and all came back good but his family has a history of early death due to heart issues...father dead at 53, uncles late 40 early 50. he just woke up and is scared once again...can he be having a heart attack pressure currently 138 over 93 no trouble breathing ...i feel like its panic....should we go to Er

At the age above 40 with a strong family history, you have every region to be investigated for chest pain. So go to ER and do your EKG and test for heart enzymes, if possible can do stress test or Tread mill test and Lipid profile. If every thigh can back normal than need not to worry.
As per the pain in night is concern you have to check for a heart rate to night or go for Holter study. May be reduced heart rate is causing the pain. But if you pain is associated with shortness of breath, profused sweating and discomfort, it is surely be related to heart.
So go to ER and rule out any heart related issue.
