Chest Pain, Pain Between Shoulder Blades On Left Sides. Cause Of Worry?
Hi I have a daughter age 21 who visited the doctor a couple of weeks ago with chest pain ....the doctor brushed it off as muscular pain, told her to take ibuprofen but this does not help....as of yesterday she had back pain between her shoulder blades when she would take a deep breath or if she leans a certain way saying she feels like something is out of place and needs to be snapped back into place and says the pain is stabbing pain.....as of today she says the chest pain has also returned now along with the pain in her back, said if someone was to shoot her with an arrow in the back the pain goes from there straight thru to her chest.....the pain in her back between her shoulder blades is mostly on the left side.

You did consult a physician for your daughter and he told nothing to worry. Your daughter is young and energetic, so the doctor after examining her externally might have suggested that it is just a muscle pain. If you consult once again he might suggest an EKG to confirm the heart is fine. The pain could be due to gastric derangements and anxiety also. Gastric derangements press diaphragm upwards and creates discomfort to the chest are which is mistaken as related to heart. Mind takes over from here and strts worrying and leads to anxiety. Worries and anxiety increases pain and that is it.
Anyway consult the physicn once again and follow his advice.
