Chest Pain Upon Exertion, Faster Heartbeat, Pain In Throat. Physically Fit. Any Ideas?
For the last couple of days, I feel chest pain upon exertion. When I start walking and my heart beats slightly faster, the pain presents itself. I also have pain in my throat. I particularly feel it as I lie down or stand up, though it goes away once I'm in a resting position. I'm a 35 yr old male, 5'11", 165 lbs with a good level of fitness.
Pain on effort is highly suggestive of Coronary Heart Disease..
A thorough history and physical examination is the first step -
You have not stated your personal habits, family history or co-morbidities
EKG / HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.
The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
