Child. Top Two Front Teeth Knocked Loose. Removal Of One Tooth While Trying To Push Them Back. What Type Of Dentist Should Be Sought For Treatment?

My 6 yo girl was accidentally hit in the her mouth and the top two front teeth were knocked loose. ER doc removed one by just trying to push it back in. She is distraught because of loosing them, hasn't lost any teeth yet. We were told that the remaining tooth might be pushed back in and it may stay in place. What would be your recommendation on how to handle this with her and what type of dentist to seek for treatment. We are guardians and she hasn't had anything more than a cleaning or two before our care.

I wanted more information and was just doing what I thought was general research. I didn't expect a payment component as I wanted to get a background of this type of situation. I think I need to start over and come back once I have basic knowledge.

hello,
thanks for sharing your concern,
at first always remember tooth which is knocked out should always be preserved under milk, saline water, saliva ,if nothing possible then last option is tap water.
next the quicker you try to put the teeth back better is the prognosis..
going by the age of your daughter you must visit a pedodontist..
hope you got your answers
take care

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

If the loose top front teeth which had lost is a milk teeth, nothing to worry.

A permanent successor will erupt at the place of lost teeth.

If the lost teeth is a permanent tooth,it has to be either replaced with replantation method or a fixed crown has to be fabricated over there.

Please do consult a dentist regarding this.

Meanwhile,oral hygiene well.

Take care.

hi...
thanks for the query...
most probably your daughters tooth was primary... permanent erupt at the age of 7-8 years... so don't worry if re implantation failed...
just clean the affected area or socket properly... tell her to go for warm saline rinses... and assure her that new tooth will come soon...
you can also go for temporary removable plate also after the area get healed... it will also maintain your daughters arch form by acting as space maintainer...
but please do CONSULT PEDODONTIST ONCE... and dont worry... she will be fine...

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

As the age of your daughter is 6 years the tooth which became loose are primary milk teeth, this teeth will be replaced by the permanent succesors, so tell your daughter not to worry.
If the tooth falls it can be replaced with removable plate or space maintainers, till the premanent teeth errupts, for this you have to consult to the Pedodontist.

Hope this helps out.

Take care!

Hi
Thanks for using HCM forum,
As her teeth which got affected were milk teeth so don't worry.
Her permanent teeth are yet to erupt in 1/2 year.
Seek advice from a pedodontist. Have a radiograph done to see whether the permanent teeth are not affected.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Give her emotional support and reassure her for the new teeth which will come in 1/2 years.
Take care
