Child With Successive Nose Bleeds, Feels Something In The Nose. Would It Be Advisable To Blow Nose?
my 5 year old daughter has had 2 nosebleeds tonight, one was just a minor dribble, but this last one was a constant poor, there was blood everywhere from her bedroom to mine, wondering what i should do, she is in bed with me now as i am afraid, she says it feels like it is still in her nose but nothing is coming out, should she blow her nose
Any history of nose picking/ trauma to the nose? Any history of bleeding disorders ?
I would advise you to take your daughter to a paediatrician.
In the meantime, when she gets an episode of nose bleed, make her sit on a chair with her head leaned forward . Press both her nostrils with the thumb and index finger and ask her to breathe through the mouth during this time for 3-5 minutes. After that, apply an ice pack over the nose intermittently.
Hope this helps.
