Child With White Spot On The Leg. Suggested Cetaphil For Dry Skin. Any Other Reason?
Hi Doctor, I have 3.5 years old son. We noticed a white spot on his leg few months back and consulted with a doctor. She said that the spot is because of his dry skin(we used to live in NJ, USA) and suggested to use 'cetaphil'(body cream) as much as we can on his body. We use this cream once/twice in a day for last few months but noticing that spot is getting bigger and other spots are also coming out on other body parts(back, back of the knee). I am wondering whether dry skin be the only reason behind these spots. Can you let me know what can cause of having this type of spots and suggest some home remedies which we can try to cure these spots?

Child With White Spot On The Leg. Suggested Cetaphil For Dry Skin. Any Other Reason?
Hello, Thanks for the query, A single white spot can be any of the following. 1. nevus depigmentosus, a localised condition. 2. vitiligo, a progressive condition. Only dry skin cannot be white. You just need to wait and watch, whether lesion progresses. Cetaphil is good.
