Chips Piece Lodge In Throat, Pains, Drink Water And Hot Coffee, Still Feels Lodged And Pains. Suggestion?

I was eating tortilla chips about 3 hours ago and one piece seemed to lodge in my throat. I am not having difficulty breathing, but, a feel a pain in the right side of my throat when I swallow. I have tried water and two cups of hot coffee hoping to soften the chip so I will go on down. So far, I still feel the pain and it,seems it is still lodged there. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
However lodged piece of chips is in the folds ( or in between the folds) of esophagus .
It will dissolve ( become soft) within 1-2 days. Sometimes I usually advise my patient to eat banana very rapid and it passes with them into stomach .
Still you are feeling any uneasiness then consult an E N T and esophagoscope ( laryngoscope ) helps in location of chips piece , it can be removed easily.
