Chronic External Ear Infection. Swelling, Reduced After Stopping Treatment. Pains During Hiccups, Jaw Movement. Infection Moved Internal?
A few weeks ago, I was diagnosed with a chronic external ear infection (I never experienced pain, just ear fullness and I couldn't hear for a few months) It got more swollen during treatment of ear drops. When I stopped them after 10 days, the swelling went down and my ear looked good. However one week later, I am experiencing pain in my ear. When I burp or hiccup it hurts really bad. When I move my jaw in a chewing manner, it feels as if part of my ear is grinding (its uncomfortable to hear!) Did my ear infection move internally behind my ear drum?
Hi, I have gone through your query. It suggests that you may be suffering from the acute otitis media after the otitis externa. If your external ear problem is resolved then you may go for the treatment of the acute otitis media.
I suggest to you that 1. Avoid putting ear drops, ear bud, oil and water in the ear. 2. Nasal decongestant 3. Proper antibiotic oral drug 4. Systemic decongestant 5. Steam inhalation.
But for better diagnosis and management, please consult the ENT specialist.
Wish you good health
