40 years old male. Chronic eye pain/discomfort (started over 3 years ago), no redness, no discharge nor watering at all. The worst in the morning, when eyelids are sticked and very difficult to open them. It is more painful in the morning. Sometimes eye pain acompanied with slight headache . Eye pain is not very severe, it changes from discomfort to mild pain, but it is very bodering. Sometimes awakeining in the night. No blurred vision , no vision changes, except that I started to lose my focus on close reading and have to remove the paper a little bit away.

Hi..
It is because of the stress on muscles to focus.. You definitely require glasses for reading..
You may be having a dry eye problem also..
You can use some lubricating eye drops and gel at bedtime..
Just after waking up wash your eyes with cold water and you can use some ice packs for relief over the eyes...

hi
thanks for choosing HCM

the following possibilities need to be ruled out in your case

1.presbyopia i.e. need to wear an extra power for near work.
consult some refractionist.

2.dryness of eyes you can start lubricating eye drops three to four times a day

3.better get a thorough ophthamic examination to rule out glaucoma or any other pathology being the cause of pain

good luck
