Chronic Rhinitis And Sinusitis, Bruised Cartilage Of Nose, Have Clear Sinus Drainage. Have Had Surgery. What Else Is Required?

I woke up 4 days ago with the bridge of my nose (right side a spot the size of a pea) sore like I had been hit. I now have a swollen bridge (top and down both sides about an inch) it is sore to the touch and throbs. The inside of my nose is not stopped up but I do have clear sinus drainage. The inside of my nose itches almost constantly to the point I curl up a tissue and stick it up my nose to scratch it. I thought maybe I bruised the cartilage from rubbing my nose and eyes so much. The swelling on the bridge of my nose is quite noticable. Is there anything OTC I can take for the swelling, sinus it and drainage? (please note: I have a history of chronic rhinitis/sinusitis. I've had 2 sinus surgeries [turbinate reduction in both sides and from what the doctor said was made a bigger window on the left side] but this was almost 5 year ago). I need help please. I sleep with a breathe rite nightly due to sinus closure at night and it hurts tremendously to use the breathe rite but can't sleep without it. I'm 50.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, you seem to be having nasal vestibulitis which is inflammation of the anterior nasal framework. The reason can be a local trauma tot he hair bearing anterior nasal area. Please get you self investigated for diabetes. otherwise avoid picking, touching that area. Use locally antiseptic ointment in nose by gently applying it, use an antibiotic with anti-inflammatory and do consult an ENT in case it does not resolve or a headache starts. Regards
