Circular Pink Patches Above Lip, Chapped Lips, Did Carmex Treatment. Treatment?

Hi, I have slightly above my moustache these two circular pink patches above my lip. My lips were chapped badly and needed carmex treatment, so I did that to my lips and it healed, I noticed a pimple around those pink patch areas at first before the skin had this effect, so I rubbe. Carmex around hoping it would help, I felt a little burning thinking it was helping, then the next few days its been a dead skin patch there. I don't know how to prevent or help this? I was thinking of puttin neosporin on it?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcaremagic
What you are having might be irritant contact dermatitis to carmex. Salicylic acid, phenol, camphor and menthol in carmex are irritants and your skin above the lip is a very sensitive skin. Burning sensation you felt was the symptom of irritation.
A topical steroid cream will help. Get it prescribed by your primary physician if possible. Apply cold compresses and moisturizing cream.
Hope this helped
Take care
