Cleaned Child's Ear, Bleeding, Not Painful. Should I Be Concerned?

Cleaned my 10 year olds ear and now there is some bleeding. She has been complaining saying that it feels like there is a hair or something in it. I put the q-tip in and she screamed. The blood was minimal but I am a wreck. She is not experiencing pain now. Help, please!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,
DO NOT EVER TRY TO CLEAN THE INSIDE OF YOUR CHILD'S EAR.
The bleeding is from the injured canal or from a torn eardrum.
Canal injury will heal on its own.
Torn ear drums will also usually heal completely.
See your doctor to know the area the extent of injury.
Dont worry.
Do not try to clean the blood clots and avoid head bath till you see your doctor.
Regards , Dr Kishori.
