Hi and thanks for the query,
The sensation should certainly have no direct relationship with the drinking of the water. However, it should be reflexes that have as impact that kind of a sensation. It important to know for how long you have been experiencing this, and under what other circumstances you have the same feeling.
It was a good idea actually taking the drugs as were prescribed by your physician. The swelling naturally should settle down, but watch for any recurrence of any abnormal signs and report to your physician.
Persistence of these symptoms might necessitate a consultation with an internist.
thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.

Hi,
You say that when you drink cold water you have a feeling that as if it is passing through your right armpit, along with the sensation of cold in the armpit. Few days back you had a sore throat with left axillary adenitis, which was swollen and painful. You were advised antibiotic and anti inflammatory drugs for 14 days. Now the lymph node swelling is subsided. So far everything is fine. OK.
You didn't mention you had fever. Even Flu may produce fever along with sore throat, swollen glands in the neck, armpits and groin, muscle and joint pains, rash and/or night sweats, diarrhea, nausea, headache.
You have not mentioned any of the above said complaints except sore throat and armpit lymph adenitis.
Advise: Sometime a routine HIV test may be useful.
Best wishes
