Concerned About Swelling In Injection Site And Low Grade Fever?

I had implant replacement surgery on 12/28/12 (3 days ago). This morning the vein on my left hand where a needle was placed is swollen and tender to the touch and I have a low grade fever so far 99.6 to 99.8. Should I be concerned about this? Thank you!

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

According to your complaints it seems to thrombophlebitis which is inflammation of the vein. Nothing to worry about. Take anti-inflammatory medicines like tablet Ibuprofen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
