Consistent Lumps On The Back Of Neck. Is It Serious?
Hi, I have two rock hard lumps on the back right side of my neck .. About even with my ear.. One slightly lower then the ear. I also have one on the left side of my neck also across from my ear. I have done tons of researching to find out what they would be. The only thing that comes up that, is the occipital lymph nodes. My concern is that I have had these lumps for 5 years, they never go away. They are always hard and have grown a little bit and sometes can be tender to touch. I can not move them around like other lymph nodes, so I am starting to get pretty worried. I had one doctor tell me they are nothing to worry about a few years ago, but somehow I don t believe that. Does this sound like something serious? And what should I do?
Hi, It seems that you are having chronic lymphadenitis in the neck. As this is since long with no problem, nothing to worry. Try to find out some chronic infective focus in surrounding area. Ok and take care.
Hi! welcome to HCM! lumps in the neck are common and their cause is usually benign. your lumps are persisting since the last five years and have grown a little as you said so it is very essential to find out what actually they are,as they can be just chronically inflammed lymph nodes or sebaceous cysts /lipoma /branchial cysts.but it is very essential to rule out lymphomas or tubercular lymphadenitis or may be parotid neoplasm/inflammation. please get an FNAC done to find out their cause and decrease your anxiety about them.Take care!
