Constant Abdominal Pain. Blood Work, Stool Test Normal. Antibiotics Not Effective. How To Cure?

My daughter who is 15 has had constant abdominal pain that described as squeezing in the upper area that squeezes and radiates to the left side on around to the shoulder . This has been since January. her blood work fine along with stool test for bacteria. They have put her on stomach meds n antibiotics for the bacteria she don t have. nothing makes it go away. she is a special needs child that never complains of pain. I m worried about her. YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

From your description, based on the location of the abdominal colic (colicky abdominal pain of the epigastrium or hypochondrium) there are a series of causes for that including but not excluded to biliary diseases (bile obstruction, bile stone etc), peptic ulcer diseases or gastritis, to a lesser extend pancreatitic diseases. These causes are hardly due to bacteria (so antibiotics would not be helpful). Those specific diseases will require specific treatments.
I will advise that you consult your daughter's doctor or a gastroenterologist so they can further examine and request specific laboratory and imagery tests/ultrasound. After which appropriate treatment will follow.
