Constant Thirst, Frequent Urination, Dry Eyes, Weight Loss. Ruled Out Diabetes. What Can This Be?

my daughter in law is suffering from an illness that has yet to be diagnosed. She is constantly thirsty, urinates alot, has vaginal problems, dry eyes , anxiety , and weight loss . The doctors have ruled out diabetes through test, but have indicated that it might be something like diabetic - something. She was not sure what they said and she will have more test tomorrow after fasting from drink. The doctor told her it is treatable, but that it not diabetes. Can you make any sense of this and help us figure out what it might be.

Hello,
It seems your daughter in law is suffering from DIABETES INSIPIDUS( DI ).
Diabetes insipidus (DI) is an uncommon condition that occurs when the kidneys are unable to conserve water as they perform their function of filtering blood. The amount of water conserved is controlled by antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also called vasopressin.

DI caused by a lack of ADH is called central diabetes insipidus. When DI is caused by a failure of the kidneys to respond to ADH, the condition is called nephrogenic diabetes INSIPIDUS.

Not drinking enough fluids can lead to the following complications:

Dehydration
Dry skin
Rapid heart rate
Unintentional weight loss
Electrolyte imbalance
Fatigue, lethargy etc.

 If treated properly , diabetes insipidus does not cause severe problems or reduce life expectancy.
