Continuous Dull Pain In Ears Followed With Sharp Piercing Pain, Burning Sensation. Suggested Physical Therapist For TMJ. Concerning?
I have been having severe ear pain. I have been to an ENT who told me to take ibuprofen and gave me skelaxin and said if it did not improve to see a dentist. He thought I had TMJ. Went to my dentist, she checked everything and said my teeth were fine and recommended a Physical Therapist for TMJ. I have been going 3 days a week now for 3 weeks. I have noticed some improvement, but not a lot. My ear hurts like a dull ache 90% of the time. Then I will have sharp, piercing pain. Sometimes it feels hot inside and sometimes it feels like its burning. All the symptoms with my ear feel like they are deep inside. Could my ear pain be different than ear pain normally associated with TMJ? Could it be from something else?
Hello, Welcome to healthcaremagic. You said that you have met ENT, Dentist and Physiotherapist. If you are unable to open your mouth or chew, it may be related to your TM joint. A simple small furuncle can cause continuous dull pain with sharp pain at times. It is no bad to consult another Ent specialist for opinion. So it is better take one course of antibiotics with NSAIDS.
Take care
