Contracted Staph Infection And Have Suddenly Developed Red Lines On My Forearm. Is This Fatal?
Hi I just noticed a small red line going up my forearm. This could just be from a small scratch, but I also have had a group of red bumps on my legs for a while now that have been caused by the staph bacteria. I was told that if you get red lines on your body while you have a staph infection it could be fatal really quickly. I could send you a picture. Do you think this is something I should go to the hospital for right now, or could I just go to the doctor when it's convenient? Thank you!
Welcome to HCM. Infection caused by staphylococci is usually localised infection like boils, furuncles, abscess etc. This infection is usually associated with pain and formation of pus in the infected area. This infection can be easily treated by antibiotics and rarely causes fatal infection. Red lines on arm can be caused by so many reasons most common being any allergic rash, insect bites, vigorous scratching etc. I suggest you get those lines examined by a GP nearby you.
Thanks.
