Coronary Aneurysm, Bypass Surgery, BP Reading Showing Gap Between Systolic And Diastolic, Normal ?
I am a 56 year old male with a BP reading which consistently shows a 30-33 gap between systolic and diastolic eg today s reading at 14:30 was 109 over 80. Pulse was 71 at this time. I had single bypass heart surgery 2 years ago for a coronary aneurism which caused a blockage with minor damage to the heart muscle . Is this type of BP reading okay? I am slim build and exercise 2 -3 times a week.
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The blood pressure and pulse rate you are having is excellent and are ideal for your age. Please do not worry. Do continue with your healthy lifestyle and daily exercise regimen. A gap of upto 50mm of hg between systolic and diastolic blood pressure is normal.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
