Cough, Back Of Throat Gets Dried, Difficulty In Breathing. Treatment?

I have had this awful cough for about a month now. It's not even a cough I guess, it's just when I happen to cough that the back of my throat gets intensely dry and I just cough harder and then I cannot breath so I'm gasping for these horrible shallow breaths. And by the time I'm done I'm crying from coughing so hard and I usually cough so hard I throw up. They last close to a minute and can show up every few minutes or not for days...and sucking on lozenges or anything like that does nothing. Just wondering if there was anything I could do for this.

Hi, it appears to be the cough due to uvilitis, a normal protrusion at the back end of the soft palate colled uvula, it enlarges and causes cough.or it may be the ooping cough.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such cough prescribe cough supprents like codeine containing syrups, and erythrocin for cough relief, and also advise to gargle with salt in luke warm water. Thank you.
