Cough, Flu Like Symptoms. On Dilaudid. When Will It Get Better?

I have been abusing 4mg. dilaudid 1-2 tabs day for approx. a year. Am trying desperately to quit cold turkey, as I don't have legit pain for it, just used it to help me get through some personal issues. I regret that now. I have coughing, and flu like symptoms. Is this normal? Especially the coughing. How long will this last? Is there something I can take to help me heal faster? Please reply. Thank you
