Coughed Out Blood Along With Phelgm. Have Constant Irritation In Throat. History Of Throat Discomfort With Acid Reflex

Hi, I have had a cough for around 6 weeks... dry non productive but today I had small amount of blood in phlegm... not sure I actually coughed this up or whether it just came from back of throat. Cough seems to be triggered by constant feeling of irritation in throat... had tonsils out in April this year due to one being enlarged and long history if throat discomfort with acid reflux. Biopsy of tonsil nad.

Hello user,
You are advised to have X-Ray of your chest to check for any congestion in basal region, and to rule out any cadiogenic/pulmonary causes.

You are also advised to have a course of antibiotics trial which will treat throat inflammation/infection if at all it is present.

If symptoms persists even after 1 week of antibiotic trial, you are advised to atttend ENT surgeon to have your throat thoroughly examined.
