Coughing Mucus With Blood, Swollen Glands, Sore Throat, Pain In And Around Neck. Help?
Hello. My wife has had mild flu like or cold symptoms for the last few days. She has had a fever and scratchy throat, with NO congestion, nausea, or diarrhea. Today she has begun coughing up mucus with varying amounts of blood in it. Swollen glands, sore throat, and pain in her neck around the area where her head connects to her backbone. Im not sure if this is the meninges or not. She's functional, but Im wondering if she needs to see a doctor.
Hi, From history it seems that she might be having acute upper respiratory tract infection giving rise to body ache, malaise and passing of some blood due to irritation. Throat infection might have given enlarged lymph nodes, swelling and neck pain. Go for one higher antibiotic medicine course and some decongestant medicines for 3 days. Do antiseptic gargles. Avoid cold drinks and junk food. Ok and take care.
