Coughing With Mucus. Chest X-ray Showing Nodule In The Lung. Advice?

Hi, I have been coughing for many months with mucos. I went to a pulmonary doctor (very very young) and she had me take an MRI . Before I went to her, I had taken a chest x-ray and it was found that I had a nodule on my LUNG . When I took the MRI, she told me that the nodule was gone. she did not say anything else. yesterday I received an e-mail from her secretary, who said this to me: Hi, I am looking for a Post Procedure Escort for you, but I cannot find one. I did not understand that. I called and asked to speak to the doctor and the secretary said...... she is not around ........

Hi

Cough for more than 8 weeks is called Chronic cough. This can be due to many reasons ranging from lung issue to heart, medications, allergy including asthma and also acid reflux from your stomach.

Do you have any other associated symptoms like blood with the mucous, fever, breathing problem, weight loss, night sweats etc.

Cough with mucous could mean you possibly have/had bronchitis. Do you smoke ? What is the colour of the mucous ?
Are you sure you had MRI scan ? Normally after Chest X-ray it is CT scan and not MRI scan.

Best idea is to revisit the same pulmonologist and try to get a detail explanation about the bizarre call from the secretary !! or check out a new place and repeat all test, like detail history, clinical examination. sputum test, Chest X-ray (avoid CT scan if not necessary coz it is lot of radiation) but MRI has minimum radiation even though it is not indicated for your problem.
You might need a spirometry or full lung function test.
