Could I Be Pregnant Having Missed Taking Qlaira Which Was Suggested For Heavy Periods?
Hello Doctor. I am 21 and on qlaira. At the end of my last cycle I came back from holiday in Asia (I live in Europe) and somehow with the jetlag and everything got confused, didn´t take the last two inactive white pills and went straight onto the new packet. Stupid but it happened! I didn´t have a period!! Then on day 6, I forgot to take the pill. I didn´t have sex until day 14. This was unprotected. I am now really worried that I might be pregnant because of the whole mix-up this month! I have taken qlaira for about 3 years because of heavy periods.
Hi ! Good morning and a Happy New Year 2014. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
If I were your doctor, to confirm if you are pregnant or not would have advised you a urine for pregnancy test, a serum HCG test, and if both were inconclusive, then an abdominal ultrasound which is confirmatory either to confirm or exclude pregnancy in your case.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
