Hi. I am a 39 year old female - generally good health except for history of asthma , non smoker. I have had 3 weeks of fever , night sweats , cough, no appetite, no energy, sore throat , hoarse, raspy voice, and one very large lump ( lymph node?) on the right side of my neck. My doctor has treated me with 2 courses of antibiotics (azithromycin and augmentin), and I am not getting better. Just had a chest x ray; which was normal. I did see an ENT dr. about the lump on my neck; and had a CT scan done but do not know the results yet. My doctor diagnosed me with asthmatic bronchitis . But here is my question - 2 months ago; I was bit and scratched (quite badly) by my cat. Most of the damage was to my right hand. I did see my dr. at that time of the injury; and got a tetnus shot and doxycycline. Could I be having some kind of strange lingering infection related to the cat bite? I have asked by doctor this; and he just blew me off. Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!
