Could I Still Be Pregnant Despite Having Brownish Discharge Along With Negative UPT?
Hello, I m 21 and I recently had my pill free week from my combined oral contraceptive. My bleed was on time but I decided to give myself a break so haven t restarted a new month supply. I am now experiencing light brown discharge a couple of days after my period stopped. I have taken a pregnancy test and it was negative and I have not had unprotected sex. I was wondering what the reasoning behind the discharge could be?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Withdrawal from the oral contraceptive pills can lead to prolonged and unpredictable menstrual period for next 1-2 periods. Pregnancy cannot be a cause as you didn't have unprotected intercourse. However, local lesions in cervix or vagina including cervical cancer should be ruled out. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
