Could Malarone Affect Menstrual Cycle?

I took malaria medicine for two weeks (during the first week I had my period). I had very severe side effects from the pills, including rash, stomach cramping, and severe diahrea for 2 weeks. I am a few days late on my period and have already taken a pregnant test, which is negative. Could malarone affect my menstrual cycle?

Hi,

This is not common side effect of malarone and this is very rarely reported so you should try to find other casues of menstruation issues such as hormonal imbalance ovarian cysts or endometriosis or some other medications if she takes it.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Wish you a good health.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
