Could Regestrone Be The Reason For Not Getting A Period?

I am a 24 year old woman who just got married a month ago. My periods have never been very regular as they sometimes used to get delayed due to stress, tension etc. Also, there were times when i have missed my period for 1-2 months at a stretch. However, the month before my wedding, my periods had been delayed by almost 20 days in such a way that i was due to get them around the day of the wedding. I spoke to a doctor about how i couldn't afford to get periods for at least 20 days after the wedding mainly because my period, when delayed, hurts a lot and comes with lots of cramps. I couldn't afford to be in that painful situation during that time. So i spoke to a doctor and was prescribed Regestrone 5mg, which, according to her, was also a family planning pill. I took this pill for 31 days and stayed clear of periods except for occassional spots of blood (2-3 drops a day). I was told that i would get my period immediately the day after i stop the pill. Now i am off the pill and it has been 4 days but i haven't got my period yet. I am also worried because we didn't take any extra protection (apart from Regestrone 5mg) while having sex. (I was not at all sexually active before this.)

Is the extended duration of intake of Regestrone the reason for my not getting my period now? Or worse, could i be pregnant (we can't afford to be pregnant at this early stage in life)?

How can i get my period to come early? Should i take some pill like Mensvit Plus? Or should i just wait for a few more days? I am really getting worried. Please help.
