Could Simvastatin Affect The Blood Sugar Levels In Body?
I am a 64 year old female who was didagnosed with Parkinsons DIsease ten years ago. Now my Internal Medicine doctor thinks I may have diabetes. My blood sugar runs about 125 fasting. Could the cholesterol medication Simvastatine affect my blood sugar count? Thank you very much.
Dear sir i can understand your concern in my opinion the medication simvastatin is a very good medication and will not affect your sugar. there is lots of data showing that they are safe. i suggest you to check Hba1c also and fasting sugar 125 mg/dl id not considered as diabetes because of age and parkinsons as the factors activity will be less and this the main reason for dysglycemia. relax and you will do better in no time. regards Dr vamsi
